  • Well Baby Clinic (Back to Top)
    Tuesday mornings by appointment.
Health visitors are in attendance. For infant assessment and routine childhood vaccinations.

Please do not bring sick children to this clinic, as this only increases the risk of spread of infection to other healthy children. Sick children will be seen by the Doctor any day during any of the routine surgeries.

The clinic also provides individual management plans, where appropriate and follow up care. An appointment can be made with reception.

  • C.H.D. - Chronic Heart Disease (Back to Top)
This clinic is held by our Practice Nurse. Patients are seen at this clinic for appropriate education, advice and supervision of treatment. The clinic also provides individual management plans, where appropriate and follow up care. An appointment can be made with reception.

  • Diabetes (Back to Top)
The Practice Nurse sees diabetic patients who are referred to them and offer them appropriate education and advice, to help maximise their control and reduce the risks of any complication from diabetes. Those who do not attend the hospital diabetic clinic routinely - also have an annual check up.

  • Anti-Coagulation Monitoring (Back to Top)
For the care of patients taking Warfarin the Practice Nurse holds a monitoring clinic.

  • Near Patient Testing (Back to Top)
The treatment of several diseases, particularly in the field of rheumatology, is increasingly reliant on drugs that, while clinically effective, need regular blood monitoring. These blood tests will be carried out by the Practice Nurse upon referral from your Doctor.

  • Health Checks (Back to Top)
Carried out by appointment with any of the Doctors or Practice Nurse. Advice is given on general matters, such as weight reduction and smoking cessation. Advice offered on coronary risk prevention. Please bring a fresh sample of urine to this appointment.

  • Travel Health (Back to Top)
The practice nurses can provide travel health advice. Please complete and return to the surgery a Travel Risk Assessment Form (available from reception or downloadable HERE) prior to your appointment. Ideally this should be done at least 6-8 weeks prior to travel, as vaccinations are not immediately effective.  Some local Chemists also provide travel health advice free of charge.

  • All new patients registering with the Surgery are offered a New Patient Health Check with the Doctor they are registering with.
